Happy 1st Birthday Little Monkey!
I was provided with free product, compensation, or both for this styled photo shoot. However, I only work with brands I fully support and LOVE LOVE LOVE 100%!!
Step right up, and check out the CUTEST 1st birthday Carnival party in town!
A Carnival/Circus party is one of the most popular amongst themes. It's fun and has so many different aspects that can be incorporated into it.
This 1st Birthday Circus collection from Oriental Trading were so fun and different! The color scheme is what really drew me to this theme because it wasn't the traditional Red, Blue, and Yellow. I was able to incorporate orange, pink and a little bit of green. It really made everything POP!
Ok, so talk about from trash to TREASURE! I was going through all my stuff in the studio room and was about to throw away a Drum lampshade when it HIT me! "Turn it into a circus drum"...and then it became a circus drum kiddie table..How perfect is that!!! I made the tabletop out foam core, but would recommend using wood for the top for a more sturdy table. Check out how to paint the drum below.
The centerpiece was made up of these adorable animal balloons from oriental trading as well. They are easy to inflate, as its only a punch to them...literally. Using a $1 store vase with crinkle shred and 2 rolls of tickers to give it some height and to add a base to it. Table top included all the following from Oriental Trading:
* Plates
* Big Top Tent Cups with straw
* Red Napkins
* Balloons
* Raffle Ticket Rolls
What carnival party is complete without a PRIZE area!!! Kids want to claim those toys! I wanted to incorporate tickets somehow into the backdrop without making it too overwhelming. I came up with the idea to make this kind of bridge like look with the tickets and tape it to the wall. It was perfect because the tickets fold in so it was easy to do. I started out by cutting the word Prize out of Pink Vinyl on My Cricut, and then worked around the word with the raffle tickets.
Using favor boxes from Oriental trading and the assortment of prize toys they carry, it was so bright and fun.
Now, that vending machine...Yes, it works!! It's super cool and took a long time to make because I winged it. The DIY will be for the future in video format.
One of my favorite details of the shoot was this Big Top drink dispenser!!! It's sooo cute and it was perfectly elevated on the Amalfi Decor modern cake stand. It was the perfect height to put a cup underneath and pour. Of course, popcorn was a must snack for the party and it looked so cute in the striped containers.
Hope you enjoyed the SHOW!!!
