From First Stitch to Fan Favorite – Our Maker Apron Journey

From First Stitch to Fan Favorite – Our Maker Apron Journey

Close-up of a black apron with white balloon illustrations, worn by a balloon artist. The apron is equipped with multiple pockets holding a balloon pump, scissors, and balloon tools, making it perfect for professional balloon decorators and event stylists. Durable, stylish, and functional—designed for busy balloon installations and creative event setups.

When I first started in the balloon industry, workbelt options were slim. Plain designs, awkward pockets, and nothing that felt fun or inspiring. I knew we could change that. In 2021, using my husband Anthony’s product design and manufacturing expertise, we created aprons that look as creative as the artists wearing them and work just as hard during busy installs.

With playful patterns, bold colors, and thoughtful details like six roomy pockets, a zip pouch, belt loops, grommets for carabiners, and a monofilament pass-through, every feature was made with balloon artists in mind.

How It Began
Our first aprons, balloon confetti in black and white and pink on hot pink, were instant hits. They were cute, yes, but they worked: pockets for pumps, scissors, and markers, a zip pouch for valuables, and an adjustable strap that fit comfortably all day.

Two phases of Creative Heart Studio Maker Aprons. Phase 1 features black and pink aprons with white balloon animal prints and matching adjustable straps. Phase 2 shows aqua-and-white and pink-and-white checkered aprons with silver hardware and adjustable straps, alongside their design mockups.

The aprons actually launched at the same time as our Maker Supply Bags. At first, my husband thought I was a little crazy when I suggested creating a supply bag just for balloon artists. But once he saw the vision, we ran with it-and that decision soon led us to create the matching apron. Looking back, they were the perfect pair to launch together.

The Color Evolution
From there, the lineup grew. We introduced checkered prints in pink and white and aqua and white, then solid colors that became bestsellers, including solid black and light pink. We followed with hot pink, red, latte, and denim. We even created private-label aprons for GEMAR and Decolovers, sending our designs to balloon artists around the world.

Nine Maker Aprons in a variety of colors and prints, including pink, black, ivory, navy, teal, red, hot pink, balloon animal print, and lavender, each displayed against coordinating balloon backgrounds. Perfect for balloon artists and event decorators, these aprons are designed for style, function, and durability in professional event setups.

In Action
Our aprons have been spotted at grand openings, weddings, birthday parties, and massive installs, quickly becoming a signature part of many artists’ setups.
